Slusser 2008 - pt. 2

I had a surprise in the mail on Saturday. When I checked the mail I discovered that one of photos I had taken for Chris Slusser's campaign was on his mailer. This was a first for me. I have never seen my work used for advertising before. It was so exciting to see how Chris is using my work. Thanks again Chris for using me for your campaign photos. You have my vote!

Wes - Senior Photos

Last night I had the opportunity to shoot Wes' senior portraits. I really enjoyed getting to know Wes better last night. Wes is a writer and has a very creative mind, the inspiration for the library shoot. Wes allowed me to indulge in my creativity and try a new location down by the river front in Alton. That is where some of my favorite shots from this session came from. Thanks, Wes, for letting me do your photos! Here's a sneak peak:

Art East

If you love art this coming weekend's (October 18 & 19, 2008) event is right up your alley. ARTEAST is an event designed to showcase the artists who live and work in Madison County, Illinois. Artists from this region participate by opening their studios to the public or participating in exhibits. Over 200 artists working in a wide range of disciplines including collage, painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, sculpture, glass and digital media show their work and demonstrate their craft. The venues (where the art is displayed) include buildings with historical or architectural interest, as well as local art galleries and shops.

Organized as a self-guided tour for patrons, ARTEAST provides an opportunity to get a glimpse into the workspace, inspiration and techniques of our resident artists, while exploring the neighborhoods, historic city centers and beautiful countryside. During ARTEAST you might decide to studio hop, stroll the downtown areas or embark on a mission to uncover that “must find” piece.

I will be showing my pieces at the Flanigan Law Offices in Edwardville, IL. The address is 120 N. Main St., Edwardsville, IL. This weekend's work will only feature one portrait, my daughter Ella when she was only 4 weeks old. The other pieces are a result of my obsession to capture the small details of life. Here are a few of the pieces I will be showing this weekend.

If you would like to purchase any of the pieces from the show please email me and let me know which pieces you would like to purchase. I hope to see you at the show.

Slusser 2008

A couple of weeks ago a good friend of my Chris Slusser ask me to take some campaign photos for him. Chris is running for the Madison County Board. This photo shoot was a blast for two reasons. One, Chris and his wife Megan are absolutely hilarious and second I felt like I was taking photos for the presidential candidates. If you live in Madison County, Illinois please vote for Chris Slusser. Go check out Chris' website (slusser2008.com) and see how he will represent the people of Madison County. Here are some shots from the session.

Chris, thanks for using me for your photos!

Ben & Rachel

On Saturday morning I had the opportunity to take Ben & Rachel's engagement photos. This a very special couple to me. I have watched them as they have dated and they have honored God with their lives. I have the privilege of marrying them in July 2009. I can't wait guys!

Saturday morning we covered a lot of ground all over the Alton area. We had several different locations but my favorite two were Downtown Alton and the College Avenue location. Here is a sneak peek of their session.

This is my favorite photo from our session! I believed I shouted "money!" when I looked at the screen on my camera.

Thanks Ben & Rachel!
